What is RISE UP?

RISE UP is a photo experience and confidence-building journey for tweens ages 9–13. It’s designed to empower them through creative, guided sessions that celebrate their hobbies, personalities, and unique self—without filters or fake smiles.

Think of it as part photo shoot, part self-love movement, and a whole lot of fun.

Why It Matters

Girls today are growing up faster than ever—sometimes without a chance to just be themselves. RISE UP is a way to pause, celebrate this special in-between stage, and give them something to be proud of. When they see themselves through someone else’s lens, confidence soars.

“Glow Up Girls (now RISE UP) was such a wonderful experience for Kate. She made some new friends and tried some new things all while being captured in some beautiful photos. She was a bit nervous about the Glamour Session because she didn't want to have wear a dress. Once Kelli told her that it was about what made her feel glamorous, she was excited about picking out her clothes and taking part. But… What Is It, Really?

RISE UP is a year-long photo experience created to help tweens (ages 9–13) build confidence and feel seen—just as they are.

Let’s be real: middle school is tough. Add in the constant pressure from social media to look perfect, act perfect, be perfect… and it’s no wonder our kids are struggling to figure out who they are. I started RISE UP because I saw it happening with my own kids—trying to keep up, trying to fit in, and losing a little bit of themselves in the process.

RISE UP is here to remind them—and us—that they don’t need to change a thing. If they love softball this year? Awesome. If their skin’s breaking out every other day? Totally normal. If they’d rather read books than go to parties? Love that for them.

Our tweens are growing and changing so fast, and I want to freeze this moment—this version of them—and show them how incredible they already are.

This project is about helping them feel seen, valued, and celebrated. Not because they’ve hit some milestone or look a certain way, but simply because they exist—and they’re loved.
